About Chris
My affinity for composition and light have led me to a career behind the lens, and my passion for creating visuals has translated into my photography.
In my everyday life I’m often bound by limitations, whether it be production equipment, scripts, technicalities - Every day is full of limitations, but limitations are perhaps the best way to find creativity. Most creativity takes place inside the box, with limited resources, so with that in mind, I began “Out of Pocket”.
Years ago I came across a quote by Chase Jarvis, that “the best camera is the one that’s with you”, and I have been propelled by it ever since. The camera I have with me, most often, is my iPhone, so Out of Pocket is a space to play within the limitations. Creativity within limitations can open up the possibilities for the way we see the world, rethink categories, and harness unorthodox creativity.
I currently live in LA with my two cats, Cinder and Ollie, surrounded by framed art and Star Wars trinkets.
Chicago holds a special place as “home”, I’ve toured all across this beautiful country as part of a post-hardcore band, and believe in working hard, and treating people kindly.
